… can you list up your battery life – as in real world numbers..
Here is what the 4s claims and I just do not believe it..
Talk time: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 14 hours on 2G (GSM)
Standby time: Up to 200 hours
Internet use: Up to 6 hours on 3G, up to 9 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
Audio playback: Up to 40 hours

Hard to believe… If it's true, then Apple did it right
Honestly, I've never logged numbers. But the video, at least in real world terms, is ridiculous. Brightness on full, maybe 2.5 hours of video.
One of my favorite features of my iPhone 4 is the stunning display. And I want to see it full and bright. So my brightness is turned all the way up. The brightness absolutely sucks the life out of your battery!
My SGS2 lasts past 17 hours easily with everything running all the time
No 4g claims or is it still stuck back a year?
+Jake Easley How about view-ability in the sun and outside with the brightness dimmed to retain battery life…
I would try one of these but the battery life of most of the 4's is terrible….and with no real good way to get extended battery life it just drives me nuts that I would have to plug it in all the time….
On average I use up 90-95% of my iPhone battery in daily use. Haven't measured it, but will be something like: 2-3 hours of talking (yes, I actually use it for making phone calls), 1 hour internet over 3G, 1-2 hours internet over WiFi, 15-20 pictures/video and 1 hour iPod. If my day is really wild I can't avoid recharging it in the car.
iPhone 4S specs look sooooo much better. And you know what: if I didn't have an iPad, I wouldn't believe it. But that thing also just keeps going.

i have to charge my iPhone 4 daily… and if i use it too much by the evening i have to charge it again…, now on the ipad 2 i don't use it as much as the iphone and i have to charge the battery three times a week…
In a typical day I use my phone to make/receive calls (at least an hour a day), send texts/SMS, browse the internet, 3G running all day (emails etc), play games, listen to music and the battery rarely lasts less than 15-16 hours.
I keep my screen brightness at or just under 40%. This has a huge impact on battery life.
I took my phone off the charger around 2:30 Monday afternoon. It is now 3:00 on Tuesday afternoon and my battery shows 46%. The phone is reporting 4 hours of usage and 1 day of standby time. I probably used my phone for 30 minutes of calls during this time. I used SoundHound to identify a few songs, played a few games of WWF, checked Facebook & G+ a few times each, and I watched the Frank Doorhof interview you linked. The interview was on wifi, and the rest was probably a 50/50 split of wifi and 3G. At this rate, my battery will easily last another 12 hours until I go to sleep, and I will still have plenty to spare. This is pretty standard usage for me.
Could a larger, more efficient battery get 8 days of standby with no usage and the screen turned off? Probably, because I can easily get half that now under the same conditions.

+Brent Burzycki, yes that is with a 4. The key to battery life is in the screen brightness. If I kept it at 100%, it would only last for hours instead of days.
battery life on my iPhone 4 means it's pretty much unusable for me, which is why I went back to my Blackberry as my main device and only use the iPhone for app testing and as an ipod. It's probably OK as a consumer smartphone but for business it's standby time is useless, even when most apps, bluetooth and wifi are off.
Check how many apps are enabled to receive Notifications. If there are several or many then this seems to quickly deplete battery life.
