This is very sad to hear. i interned with Bill and Dan back in 1998 or so after which he hired me. There isn't a bad thing to say about Bill, truly. A great man who showed me more than my pea brain could ever comprehend...and was always more than willing to share more.

Bill, i'm genuinely sorry and forever greatful to have met you.

                                    Rich...

I am a friend of Bill's mother, Mrs. Della Melton. I was cruising the internet yesterday as she was reminiscing to me about Bill over the phone. I found your website, read it to her and she was thrilled to hear this for the first time. She had no idea people all over the world could read the tributes to Bill and his work. I will print and bring her a copy. Is it possible to get a better image of the collage above so I may print and give her a copy?

My thanks to Black Diamond Productions for maintaining this web page.

Bill was a stranger to no one. He could immediately win over practically anyone he met, from a young African boy in South Africa, to a top CEO in the U.S.

He was a very gifted photographer, with a very genuine interest in people and an insatiable love of life.

I still think of him every day.
